When developing additives for paper surfaces, our focus is on specifically preparing the properties of the surface for printing, processing, or for specific applications. In principle, we therefore consider the entire production and processing chain up to the end product. At the same time, expenditures of time and cost related to new product developments are to be reduced for the paper manufacturer.

Additives facilitate the precise control of various properties:

• Liquid penetration (e.g. important for trapping and gluability)
• Surface tension (important for wetting, adhesion)
• Resistance to mechanical stress (abrasion, scratch resistance)

Additives help to optimize the entire value-added process in the paper industry leading up to paper processing.
