Rheology Additives: Improving storage stability - Waterborne systems - Phyllosilicates



The rheological profile of systems can be improved with phyllosilicates. Phyllosilicates are added during the production and they are fully effective if they are dispersed using sufficient shear forces. In doing so, the phyllosilicate platelets separate and interact across the edges, resulting in the desired rheological behavior. Depending on the application area, the phyllosilicates and some of their properties can be modified. Phyllosilicates can be used both in aqueous as well as in solvent-borne or solvent-free systems.
