Rheology Additives: Increasing film thickness - Solvent-borne/ solvent-free systems - Enhancers for fumed silica



Fumed silica for the modification of rheological properties is used in many systems. However, depending on the required quantity, incorporation can prove to be difficult; the effect may not be sufficient or separation occurs during storage. In the case of two-component systems, the rheological effectiveness can also be reduced when the second, unmodified component is added. BYK offers enhancers for fumed silica that make incorporation easier, increase effectiveness and prevent settling during storage. In addition, some products can be added to secondary components, such as curing agents, so as to prevent the viscosity from decreasing when the components are mixed, or even to increase the efficiency (booster).
