Innovation Award 2007

Engagement requires encouragement. That is why we established an internal innovation prize: BYK Advance. Every year, the prize recognizes employees for outstanding projects. We know that success has many contributors; for this reason, we recognize the entire team as well as their chemical-technical achievements in product development. Only teamwork — the interdisciplinary exchange between research and development, application specialists and production — is capable of developing solutions that help our customers. That principle is the most important for market success.

In 2007, BYK Advance was awarded for the first time. It was given to a five-member team that developed our new Coupling Agent BYK®-C 8000. More than four years of project work was required for this innovative product, which opened new avenues for the construction industry. For the first time, our Coupling Agent provided a real chemical connection between filler materials and resins in polymer concrete. This reduces material volumes and saves cost in the long run.
