Draw­down Plate

Pro­vides an eco­nom­i­cal and con­ve­nient means for mak­ing draw­downs of uni­form film thick­ness.

Con­sists of a glass clip­board set firmly on a pheno­lic plas­tic panel. The entire appara­tus is mounted on rub­ber sup­ports in order to elim­i­nate slid­ing while in use. The draw­down sur­face is 6.4 mm (1/4 in) thick pol­ished glass, equal in pla­nar­ity to fine mir­ror glass. A steel clip holds the chart firmly while the draw­down is made. The work­able area is equal to the size of the glass plate.
