Rotor-Sta­tor Dis­per­sion Sys­tem

The DIS­PER­MAT® AS – The Rotor-Sta­tor Dis­per­sion Sys­tem – is par­tic­u­larly suit­able for R & D due to its com­pre­hen­sive pro­cess con­trol. The DIS­PER­MAT® AS rotor and sta­tor con­sist of coaxially inter­twined rings designed with nar­row radial slots. Run­n­ing at high speeds, the rotor runs across the sta­tor. The sub­s­tance to be dis­persed is fed into the cen­ter of the rotor-sta­tor sys­tem and is cen­trifu­gally accel­er­ated. As the sam­ple passes through the dis­per­sion head, it is dra­mat­i­cally accel­er­ated both tan­gen­tially and radially. The high fre­quency shear­ing force and tur­bu­lent flow con­di­tions ensure opti­mum dis­per­sion and emul­si­fy­ing action pro­duc­ing very fine dro­plets with a large sur­face area.

The dis­per­sion sys­tem has a mechan­i­cal seal with an inte­grated pres­sure sys­tem. The sys­tem can oper­ate in a pass through mode where the dis­per­sion goes through the rotor – sta­tor conti­nously or a sin­gle-pass mode. All parts that come in con­tact with the sam­ple are made of stain­less steel. The AS Dis­per­mat® comes with the patented ‘C’ tech­nol­ogy in which the mechan­i­cal power can be con­trolled (refer to the intro­duc­tion sec­tion on Dis­per­sion for more infor­ma­tion)
