Efficient Data Analysis with smart-chart
Geretsried/Germany: BYK-Gardner - worldwide partner of the automotive, paint and plastic industries for quality control of color, appearance and physical properties - is introducing a new software for BYK-mac, wave-scan and cloud-runner to efficiently analyse measurement data: smart-chart software.
Various process parameters influence the overall impression of effect finishes. Good process control requires systematic planning and efficient data handling of large data sets.
BYK-Gardner smart-chart is a modern and intuitive software package which combines color and appearance data in one data analysis software.
- smart-chart offers set-up of “Organizers” for clear sample identification and menu guided operation on the instrument. Car schematics help to define the sampling procedure. The entered parameters can be used for filtering the data saved in the database.
- smart-chart has a comprehensive “Standard Management” module to define tolerances and limits. Color Families can be input that define the common settings: DE equation, measurement geometries, statistics, tolerances and limits.
- smart-chart offers a “single car analysis report” which is essential for color harmony meetings. The measurement results are displayed in a table and highlighted based on the “traffic light” set-up in the Standard Management.
For color harmony the differences between “panel matches” (e.g. fender and fascia) as well as the differences to the master standard are shown.
For wave-scan analysis the averages of the groups (horizontal – vertical) as well as the single data reading are displayed.
- smart-chart offers pre-prepared QC reports in Excel. After the data has been saved in the database, clearly structured filters can be used for data selection and the results are directly transferred to standardized reports with graphs.
