New Additives

08.05.2012 - BYK®-1794

Emission-free and silicone-free polymeric defoamer for modern coating systems.
Environmentally sound and safe-to-use raw materials are much in demand in the DIY sector. A set of legislation and regulations determines the framework conditions for their use. The industrial and professional sectors now also conform with these requirements.
BYK®-1794 is an emission-free defoamer for a wide range of solvent-borne, solvent-free, high-solids and UV applications, e.g. thick layer systems such as coatings for flooring or coatings for the interiors of tanks and containers.
BYK®-1794 consists of 100% solids and is therefore very effective. At the same time, the additive has no negative impact on surface properties. It fulfills all statutory regulations in Germany (AgBB), France and Switzerland.
BYK®-1794 is also suitable for direct food contact applications.

11.04.2012 - BYK®-P 9085

BYK®-P 9085 is a processing additive for low profile and class A SMC that provides mold release and surface-enhancing properties. The low viscosity of the additive guarantees easy dosing and an improved handling in the production process.

05.03.2012 - CARBOBYK®-9810

BYK has launched its first CNT dispersion.
Carbon nanotubes provide unique features such as high electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as good mechanical properties. BYK applied its expertise in liquid additive technology and created an easy-to-use additive with a uniquely high CNT content of 8%. CARBOBYK®-9810 is an easy-to-pour, homogenous liquid that facilitates correct dosing, prevents dusting, and allows for post-addition.

02.01.2012 - BYK®-1710

BYK®-1710 is a zero emission polymer defoamer free of silicones and mineral oils. The additive is excellent suitable in sensitive systems such as alkyd emulsions, PUDs as well as 2-pack epoxy and PUR systems. BYK®-1710 is VOC-free and fulfills all common directives, and it is applicable in many areas such as architectural, automotive, protective, wood and furniture coatings, adhesives, ambient curing resins, coil coatings, and printing inks.

12.12.2011 - DISPERBYK®-2151

DISPERBYK®-2151 is a hyperbranched wetting and dispersing additive for controlled action in epoxy and other reactive systems. Due to the special hyperbranched structure of DISPERBYK®-2151 the aminic pigment-affinic groups are encapsulated by polyester side chains and only come into operation when shear force is exerted; this provides no reaction with the epoxy resin, and, as a result, long-term storage stability at user-friendly viscosity levels is achieved.

31.10.2011 - CERAFLOUR® 1000

CERAFLOUR® 1000 is a biodegradable polymer based on renewable resources. The additive shows wax like properties by improving the matting efficiency and the haptic (soft-touch) of the system.
The transparency remains at a high level and surface properties are improved.
CERAFLOUR® 1000 can be used for aqueous, solvent-free, rad-cure and solvent-borne systems.

11.10.2011 - AQUACER® D 272

AQUACER® D 272 is an aqueous wax-based performance additive to improve paper surfaces. Matted papers often display gloss mottling from abrasion or rubbing during transport and handling in the processing equipment. The additive can be used to reduce this problem. AQUACER® D 272 contains a high amount of non-volatile matter.

25.08.2011 - NANOBYK®-3605

NANOBYK®-3605 is an innovative solution for solvent-borne and solvent-free radiation-curing systems used for applications such as wood parquet floorings, mobile phones or laptops to protect their surfaces against scratches and abrasion.
The additive contains stabilized silica nanoparticles, which, thanks to their surface treatment, crosslink into the resin matrix and facilitate homogeneous distribution in the cured film.
NANOBYK®-3605 shows no negative influence with regard to transparency, gloss or haze.

11.08.2011 - BYK®-4511

BYK®-4511 is the additive especially designed to improve the adhesion of epoxy systems to several metal substrates, such as sandblasted steel, cold-rolled steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and also on glass. It enhances the surface tolerance when, for example, the paint is applied to oily or rusty surfaces.
BYK®-4511 boosts the overall performance of multi-layer systems and increases the flexibility of the paint film. The improved anticorrosive properties of the coating are also a benefit.

02.08.2011 - BYK®-1711
New silicone- and mineral oil-free polymeric defoamer for water-borne coatings

BYK®-1711 is recommended for applications in which silicone- and mineral oil-free defoamers are preferred. It is an excellent addition to BYK´s polymeric defoamer range for water-borne coatings.
BYK®-1711 is a perfectly balanced product: it is very efficient at low dosage levels but still fairly compatible, and requires only low to medium shear forces for incorporation.
We recommend its usage in general industrial, automotive, and wood and furniture applications.
