Experts from BYK will show application data and examples of how to use our products in various fields, such as recycling, packaging, and transportation. We will also discuss how to increase the toughness or heat stability of polyamides, achieve better dispersed pigments in color masterbatches and reuse recycled material with improved quality. Our Thermoplastics application experts will be available for live Q&A as well as discussions after the event.
Who should attend?
Talks will be relevant to the following application fields:
Tom Inch
Market Manager Thermoplastics Industrial Applications
Dr. Sebastian Reinelt
Business Development Manager for Plastic Additives
Optimization of thermoplastic packaging material is important to meet the final customer’s expectations. In this session, we will focus on additive technologies to optimize the properties of packaging materials e.g., barrier properties, nucleation, and compatibilization.
Jörg Garlinksy
Head of Global End Use Thermoplastics Industrial Applications
Learn how to optimize difficult-to-disperse pigments in polyolefins and how to effectively avoid warpage caused by color masterbatches.
Jonathan McLachlan
Technical Service Scientist
Polypropylene suffers low scratch and mar resistance. The addition of talc to improve stiffness and other physical properties increases the visibility of scratches. New high-performance clay products and newly developed permanent (non-blooming) technology can improve the scratch resistance to meet automotive standards and minimize the effect on density.
Louis Martin
Head of Global End Use Thermoplastics Transportation
In this session, we will give an overview of clay products for reinforcement and/or barrier property enhancement of polypropylene and polyamides.
Jörg Garlinksy
Head of Global End Use Thermoplastics Industrial Applications
We will discuss flame retardant system solutions for polyolefins and specifically address the topic of HFFR cables.
Bjorn Hansen
End Use Specialist, Thermoplastics Industrial Applications
Recycling of plastics can be improved through the effective use of additives. BYK’s easy-to-use solutions for improving the properties of material streams from industry and households give plastics new life.
Tom Inch
Market Manager Thermoplastics Industrial Applications
Polyamide thermoplastic resins offer an excellent balance of processibility and performance properties. Still, some applications for these resins demand increased impact performance at normal or low temperatures. For these applications, improved grades of polyamide can be used. BYK SCONA modifiers are used in toughened polyamide resins, ranging from general-purpose toughness to intermediate and super toughness.
Louis Martin
Head of Global End Use Thermoplastics Transportation
Polyamides present an excellent balance of properties. To retain the expected performance, they must be stabilized to resist degradation due to heat. We will discuss the many options available based on the application requirements.
Louis Martin
Head of Global End Use Thermoplastics Transportation
In this session, we will discuss BYK’s variety of compounded products for use in thermoplastics. These include heat stabilization, light stabilization and flame retardant additives.
