BYK-Gardner byko-spectra lite

BYK-Gardner, worldwide partner of the paint and plastic industries for quality control of color, appearance and physical properties, is introducing the new light booth bykospectra lite. In addition to the well-proven BYK-Gardner light booth range, the lite version with five light sources and compact design builds the standard for critical visual evaluation in laboratory and production.

Visual perception is highly subjective as it is influenced by our individual color preferences depending on our personal experience. At the same time we associate consistent color and appearance with high quality. The visual assessment is one of the important criteria to buy as well home electronics as furnishings or our outfits.

As colors appear differently under different light sources, defined lighting conditions and standardized color-neutral environment are important in order to optimize the visual evaluation. The light sources of byko-spectra lite for daylight, home light and department store light allows you to remove the risk of metamerism. Viewing under ultraviolet light helps you to detect and evaluate optical brighteners or fluorescent pigments. The byko-spectra lite with its certified consistency helps you to evaluate according to all common standards as ISO, ASTM, DIN, SAE, BSI and obtain color assessment with confidence. No matter how your product looks like, if smart phone, cosmetic or packaging, with this light booth the color communication is improved and the product rejections are reduced.

In the world of light sources everybody knows, that the real challenge is to offer daylight source as near as possible to CIE standardized D65 illuminant. The daylightbased technology in our light booths assures consistent, accurate rendering of color with CIE rating of B/C based on CIE Publication 51.

Instruments should assist you in the daily work and not let it increase. Simple assembly without any tools and long term stable light sources with traceable certification reduce the initial effort to minimum. Easy lamp replacement and servicing combined with an elapsed time tracker, that indicates when to replace the lamps make the maintenance as easy as child’s play. For efficient work management, automatic sequencing provides a fixed viewing time for each source and helps to standardize the testing procedures.

If you use an ‘OBJECTIVE EYE’ – we offer a whole range of instruments for measurement of color and appearance.

About BYK Additives & Instruments:
BYK Additives & Instruments is a leading supplier in the field of additives and measuring instruments. Additives are chemical substances which, when used in small quantities, improve product properties such as scratch resistance or surface gloss. They permit the rheological behavior of liquid materials to be adjusted, providing the optimum conditions for smooth-running manufacturing and application processes.

The coatings, inks and plastics industries are among the main consumers of BYK additives. Yet with exploration technology of oil/gas, the manufacture of care products, the manufacture of adhesives and sealants, and construction chemistry, too, BYK additives improve the product characteristics and production processes.

Testing and measuring instruments from BYK effectively evaluate the quality of color, gloss and appearance as well as the physical properties of paint, plastic and paper products and are an important part of quality control.

As a globally operating specialty chemicals company, BYK has production sites in Wesel, Kempen, Moosburg and Schkopau (Germany), Deventer and Denekamp (Netherlands), Widnes (UK), Wallingford, Chester, Gonzales, Louisville (USA) and Tongling (China).
