AQUACER 1075, AQUACER 1076, AQUACER 8075, AQUACER 8976 - VOC- and APEO-free Wax Additives for Optimum Surface Properties in Floor Polishes

The new AQUACER products are VOC- and APEO free wax additives for optimum surface properties in floor polishes. AQUACER 1075 and AQUACER 8075 have a stronger positive impact on surface protection, whereas AQUACER 1076 and AQUACER 8976 have a major influence on anti-slip properties. An optimum product performance can be achieved by a combination of these additives. The attained effects are preserved before and after cleaning. In addition, the AQUACER products show an improvement of the disinfectant resistance and no color shift (yellowing) of the applied film. The wax additives offer an excellent price/performance ratio and are extremely suitable for PVC, linoleum, parquet, rubber floorings, granite, marble, ceramics, tiles and terrazzo.
AQUACER 8075 and AQUACER 8976 are only available in North America.

BYK-1796 - Highly Effective Air Release Agent for Solvent-free and Solvent-borne Systems

In many areas, high-solid or 100 % systems make a valuable contribution to reducing or avoiding solvent emissions. One big challenge comes in releasing all of the air from these systems. BYK-1796 is a newly developed air release agent that guarantees fast and efficient elimination of trapped air without altering optical and mechanical properties. The high efficiency of the additive and a good price-performanceratio make it the number one choice for solvent-free systems. One such application example comes in the form of PU or EP floor coatings. BYK-1796 is also recommended for solvent-based systems, e.g. protective coatings, where it also offers a full range of services.

CERACOL 605 - Wax Additive to Improve the Surface Properties of Solvent-borne and Water-borne Coating Formulations with a High Co-solvent Proportion, Especially Can Coatings

CERACOL 605 is a very fine wax dispersion based on carnauba wax, and has been specially developed for can coatings with thin layers. CERACOL 605 contains butylglycol, and is ideal for solvent-borne and aqueous systems with a high proportion of co-solvent. The additive provides low COF values, an excellent scratch resistance and good optical properties, even in the case of thin layers. CERACOL 605 fulfills all food contact legal status requirements, and can be used both for internal and external coatings.

AQUACER 1540 is a wax emulsion based on carnauba wax, and has been specially developed for can coatings with thin layers. It is particularly recommended for the area of aqueous can coatings. The additive provides low COF values, an excellent scratch resistance and has no negative impact on gloss, even in the case of thin layers. AQUACER 1540 fulfills all food contact legal status requirements, and can be used both for internal and external coatings.

BYK-1680 - VOC-free, Liquid Defoamer for Water-borne Construction Material Applications, in Particular in Combination with Concrete Additives Based on Polycarboxylate Ethers

BYK-1680 is characterized by a very good spontaneous and controlled long-lasting defoaming effect as well as by an excellent miscibility in aqueous polymer solutions and building material formulations. Due to the very good compatibility neither phase separation nor turbidity occur in concrete admixtures. BYK-1680 is long-term stable even at elevated storage temperatures, improves the flow behavior and can be added to the end system at any time during production, without any limitation.

BYK-3456 - Aditivo silicónico sin fluor para mejorar la humectación del soporte y la nivelación de los sistemas acuosos y recubrimientos de secado UV sin disolvente

BYK-3456 es un aditivo silicónico sin ninguna parte fluorada que reduce de forma importante la tensión superficial dinámica y estática. Incluso soportes porosos y con rugosidad (como la madera) se humectan de forma perfecta. El aditivo se usa para mejorar de forma simultanea la humectación del soporte y la nivelación. A diferencia de otros aditivos BYK-3456 no estabiliza la espuma.

DISPERPLAST-1180 Aditivo humectante y dispersante sin disolventes y de bajos COV para dryblends y compuestos de PVC con plastificante y carga mineral.

El nuevo DISPERPLAST-1180 es un aditivo humectante y dispersante muy efectivo para sistemas con alto contenido en carga mineral en los cuales los aditivos de proceso y los humectantes convencionales llegan a su límite de efectividad. Con frecuencia se aumenta el contenido de carga mineral de las formulaciones, pero esto puede causar efectos no deseados. El uso de DISPERPLAST-1180 no solo favorece la reducción de coste debido al incremento de carga mineral, sino que también mejora la calidad del producto acabado. En consecuencia el DISPERPLAST-1180 es particularmente adecuado para laminados de alta calidad como, por ejemplo, suelos de diseño en base PVC (LVT – Luxury Vynil Tiles).

AQUACER 583 – Emulsión de cera para mejorar las características superficiales de los recubrimientos para semillas

Los recubrimientos para semillas son usuales en agricultura y hay muchas razones para ello. La aplicación de un recubrimiento antes de su uso aumenta la productividad al mejorar las características de proceso y aumentar la protección contra influencias externas. AQUACER 583 es una nueva emulsión no iónica de cera para recubrimientos de semillas acuosos. El aditivo mejora la resistencia a la abrasion y facilita el movimiento y sembrado de las semillas. Adicionalmente el AQUACER 583 tiene un impacto positive sobre el brillo y las propiedades “anti-blocking” del recubrimiento.

The new BYK-325 N is equal in performance to well-known BYK-325 but avoids any exports restrictions because it is free from γ-butyrolactone.

13.02.2018 - BYK-1166

BYK-1166 Wetting additive for PVC plastisols to reduce the viscosity in the low shear range
Currently not available in North America

The new BYK-1166 is the latest development within the BYK-1160 series. All of these products work very effectively to reduce the low shear viscosity of PVC plastisols based on pseudo-plastic PVC grades. Occasionally, in PVC plastisols containing azodicarbonamide (AZO) as a blowing agent, the additives of the BYK-1160 family can cause yellowing in the final product. This is a limiting factor – especially in the wallcovering industry. BYK has therefore developed BYK-1166 which has been evaluated within the European PVC foam resins most widely used in the industry. The latest member of the BYK-1160 family has low volatility and can be used in a wide range of PVC applications (except low fogging for automotive). It is especially recommended for chemically foamed PVC plastisols where white index and surface properties are of importance. BYK-1166 shows the best heat stability of all products within the BYK-1160 family.

BYK-C 8013 Agente de acoplamiento polimérico exento de disolventes para aumentar las propiedades mecánicas de sistemas de curado radicalario reforzados con fibra de carbono

BYK-C 8013 es el primer agente de acoplamiento a nivel mundial para fibras de carbono. Se usa en resinas de viniléster y poliéster insaturado con fibras de carbono para la fabricación de composites. Su uso aumenta considerablemente la fuerza transversal a la fibra y proporciona una mayor libertad de diseño. La mejora de la unión de la fibra con la matriz aumenta tanto la resistencia a la tracción como a la flexión del composite. La composición química del aditivo hace posible el enlace con las fibras y con la resina simultáneamente. Esta característica permite hacer cambios en el diseño y fabricar piezas más resistentes. BYK-C 8013 presenta un aumento considerable de las propiedades mecánicas de hasta un 70 %, especialmente en procesos de curado en caliente como SMC/BMC, pultrusión o RTM. Este aditivo reactivo puede añadirse al ensimaje durante la fabricación de las fibras o a la resina poco antes de su procesado.
BYK-C 8013 puede aplicarse sobre la fibra, por ejemplo por pulverización, como un "segundo ensimaje” sin necesidad de tener que eliminar previamente el primer ensimaje. BYK-C 8013 se recomienda para todo tipo de fibras de carbono.

09.01.2018 - DISPERBYK-2157

DISPERBYK-2157 VOC- and solvent-free wetting and dispersing additive for non-polar systems

DISPERBYK-2157 is a VOC- and solvent-free wetting and dispersing additive for non-polar solvent-borne and solvent-free inkjet inks, printing inks, protective and architectural coatings as well as PVC plastisols. The additive is excellent compatible with solvents, like paraffins, isoparaffins, vegetable oils, mineral oils or plasticizers. DISPERBYK-2157 is recommended for all kinds of pigments and greatly improves optical properties such a color strength, transparency and gloss. In inks and coatings applications DISPERBYK-2157 provides a strong reduction of the mill base viscosity and a good stability. In PVC applications the additive shows a strong decrease of batch and final plastisol viscosity and moreover offers an excellent heat stability.
