Wesel, July 21, 2025 – At this year’s K 2025 in Düsseldorf, BYK will be present-ing an innovative solution for the long-term UV stabilization of polyamides and polyolefin composites. The new additive was specifically developed to preserve the properties and surface quality of plastics in the long term when exposed to light, since polyamide-based components suffer a deterioration of their properties and surface quality when subjected to longer-lasting exposure to light. Besides deterioration in the physical properties, this often also results in changes in color and gloss.

BYK Additives will be presenting a new generation of process aids at this year’s K 2025 in Düsseldorf. Not only is the new polymer processing aid (PPA) BYK-MAX P 4110 PFAS-free; at the same time, it also facilitates faster production speed, prevents melt fracture, and reduces build-up on dies, resulting in reduced clean-ing efforts and, consequently, shorter downtimes for customers. It was developed for use in polyolefins with the aim of optimizing the production of films and fibers, as well as other extrusion applications.
