Additives for Adhesives and Sealants

DISPERBYK is BYKs main brand for wetting and dispersing additives. DISPERBYK wetting and dispersing additives provide a fine and homogeneous distribution of solid particles in liquid media and ensure the long-term stability of such systems. The additives stabilize pigments (inorganic, organic and also effect pigments) and fillers. The liquid phase can comprise water and the entire range of organic solvents of varying polarity. Wetting agents are surface-active substances and improve the wetting of solids. Dispersing agents prevent particles flocculating by various mechanisms (electrostatic effects, steric effects). Wetting and dispersing additives unite both mechanisms of action in one product, i.e. they are both wetting and stabilizing. DISPERBYK wetting and dispersing additives can be used in a wide range of different applications.

GARAMITE rheology additives are organophilic phyllosicates based on the Mixed Mineral Technology (MMT) for solvent-borne and solvent-free systems. The GARAMITE organophilic phyllosilcates are based on the patented Mixed Mineral Thixotrope (MMT) technology and designed for usage in solvent-borne and solvent-free systems. They have an exceptionally high bulk density (i.e. lower volume), exhibit a very unique rheology profile, are easy to handle and incorporate, and give outstanding sag resistance and anti-settling properties.
