BYK has achieved significant milestones in its sustainability journey by actively participating in the EcoVadis assessment process and using the results to further develop and strengthen its sustainability management practices.
As part of the ALTANA Group, BYK now follows a harmonized, group level approach. To ensure a consistent, transparent, and comparable sustainability assessment across the Group, EcoVadis ratings are therefore referenced at ALTANA Group level.
The ALTANA EcoVadis scorecard reflects the Group’s overarching sustainability management system, governance structures, and policies, which also apply across its operating companies, including BYK. Furthermore, it provides valuable insights into sustainability performance, and highlights areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
ALTANA Group recognized by EcoVadis
In 2025, the ALTANA Group was awarded an EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing ALTANA among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide at the time of evaluation.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates the quality of a company’s sustainability management system across the themes of Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The Group level assessment is updated annually and is valid for 12 months.
